MARIBEL AVILÉS JUNCO
PAINTER AND SCULPTOR
She graduated from the National School of Plastic Arts and Taller Díaz de Cossio. In 1988 she began her career as a painter and in parallel in 2007, she began to lead her artistic development towards ceramics and bronze.
In 2008 she was awarded a scholarship by the Carolina Foundation and the José Félix Llopiz Foundation with the International Workshop-Seminar of Plastic Arts Effect collage and Contemporary artistic practice, in the Island of Contadora Panama. In 2001 she obtained an Artistic Residency for two months in Austria and participated in four FONCA Project Promotion and Cultural Co-investment scholarships 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006 and in 2001 she obtained recognition in painting from the Third Biennial of Painting and Engraving Alfredo Zalce.
Her work has been selected at the 2016 UNAM Visual Arts Biennial, at the VI and VII International Encounter of Women in Art Mexico-Spain, Alas y Raíces, Embassy of Mexico in Berlin, at the III Pedro Coronel Painting Biennial, at the III Biennial. of Painting and Engraving Alfredo Zalce, in La Línea del Arte, in the I and II Biennial of Painting National Institute of Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, in El Enano at the End of the Millennium, in Pasión al Rojo Vivo, in the III Biennial of Monterrey, in the VI Don Quixote Iconographic Museum Stamp Contest, in the II José Clemente Orozco National Biennial, in Portraits of Sor Juana and the Annual Exhibition of Mini Stamp Museo de la Estampa, Mexico City.
Her work is part of the collections of the La Dificultad Site Museum, Acosta Mine Site Museum, Nicolás Zavala Cultural Center (all three in Real del Monte Hidalgo) of the AC Mining Museum and Historical Archive. in Pachuca Hidalgo, Altos Hornos de México, the collection of the Isauro Martínez Torreón Theater, the collection of the Rubén Herrera Plastic Arts School in Saltillo, the Querétaro Art Museum, the Galerie Esterhammer, Austria and the José Félix Foundation Llopiz in Panama.
He has been a jury 6 times in the Program of Stimulus to the Creation and Artistic Development of the CNCA of the States of Durango (2), Puebla, Guerrero, Tabasco, Quintana Roo and in the contest "And you what do you do to save water" Secretary of the Environment Atmosphere.
She has collaborated in the scenographic realization of the stagings, has presented 23 individual exhibitions in different parts of the country, and 67 collective and abroad in Germany, Austria, the United States, France, and Panama.
Since 1990 he has been teaching, has given Children's workshops in Mexico City and the interior of the country, through the INHA, INBA, and CNCA, at the Rubén Herrera de Coahuila School of Plastic Arts, Tlaxcalteca Institute of Culture and Drawing in the workshop of Gilberto Aceves Navarro.
