LOURDES ORTÍZ

PLASTIC ARTIST

She began her career in art through graphic design. Over the years she has been able to separate both worlds.

Back in 2000 she started drawing from life nude models at the ENAP Academy in Mexico City where she discovered "maps" that light offers as it illuminates the human body.

It was there her first solo exhibition took place yielding clues to the spectator on how to guide the eye over the human body following color clues.

Years later (2010) she was offered an exhibit on the historic Reforma Avenue in Mexico City as a painter. She painted with steel. She believes art is for everyone to enjoy. It´s the reason she participates in public art althought she continues to produce studio work.

"I believe art is for everyone to enjoy. It’s the reason I participate in public art although I continue to produce studio work".
