ARTURO BUITRÓN

PAINTER

Mexico City 1961. Graduated from ENAP-UNAM. Member of the National System of Art Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Fonca) in the 2009 broadcasts with the Rizoma Landscape project and 2014 with Open Circle.

rom 1983 to date he has made more than 40 exhibitions and individual projects; the most recent, In visu, inaugurated on March 3 at the Tlalpan History Museum. Also noteworthy are Rhizome Landscape, ephemeral intervention of the main façade, reception and waiting room of the National Cancer Institute building in Mexico City, inaugurated in 2016, Unpredictable (Museum of Modern Art of the State of Mexico), Unpredictable tactile exhibition itinerant (Teatro del Pueblo, México, DF, Municipal House of Culture, Zacatecas, Zac., Bank of Mexico, Mexico City, Undersecretariat for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities, Zacatecas, Zac. and in the Jesús Corral Ruiz public library from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora), Rizoma Landscape (Fundación Sebastián, AC, 2013), Two Years and One Day (El Piramidón Contemporary Art Center, Barcelona, ​​1995), Open Circle, Under the Light of Montserrat (Museum of Contemporary Art Alfredo Zalce, Morelia, 1996), Jubileo (Museo Universitario del Chopo, 2000), La Isla (Zócalo de la Ciudad de México, 2002; Instituto Michoacano de Cultura de Morelia, 2003) and Cenital (World Trade Ce nter, 2009).

He has participated in more than 60 group exhibitions; First National Biennial of Painting Luis Nishizawa, 2017-2018; as an organizer and participant in Sin curator, Museum of Modern Art of the State of Mexico, 2015 and in spaces such as the Cultural Foundation of la Caixa de Terrasa (Barcelona), the Moret Gallery (Tarragona), the La Santa Cultural Center (Barcelona), and in Mexico, the Monterrey Museum, the Luis C. Morton Gallery, the Palace of Fine Arts, the AC Art Gallery, in Monterrey, the San Ángel Cultural Center, the Carrillo Gil Museum of Contemporary Art, the Frissac House Gallery, the Óscar Román Gallery. In 2010 he was part of the Carne (Old Archbishop's Palace) exhibition and in 2011 he was selected for the V National Biennial of Visual Arts of Yucatán. He is currently participating in the international roaming exhibition, -From the earth to the sky. 100 years with Julio Cortázar- (Débora Arango Exhibition Hall of the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, Fondo de Cultura Económica, Bogotá, Colombia; Museum of Contemporary Art, Valdivia, Chile; among others).

His work is part of collections such as those of the Sebastián AC Foundation, the Alfredo Zalce Museum in Morelia, the Chopo University Museum, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the Ministry of Foreign Relations (Ollin mural in the Mexican embassy in Lisboa, Portugal), the Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City, the Xochimilco Delegation and the El Piramidón Contemporary Art Center in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

In 1996 he was awarded the Fonca Young Creators scholarship. In 2000, he was a fellow of the Fonca Cultural Projects and Co-investments Promotion Program and the Bancomer Cultural Foundation. In 2002 he obtained a scholarship from the Art Everywhere program from the Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City and as of 2014 he is invited to be part of the Grupo Milenio acquisition and promotion program.
