EDUARDO CAAMAÑO

PAINTER

(Spain - Mexico 1966)

His father is from Madrid a his mother is from Oaxaca. Eduardo Caamaño lived his childhood, youth and first years as an artist in the island of Mallorca (Baleares), Spain.

Two years ago he returned to Mexico. His first individual exhibition in Mexico City was in the Fundación Sebastián and presently participates in a collective exhibition of painting of large format as part of the collection Soledad. At the same time, he is currently involved along with writer Tesseo Fournier, in a graphic novel inspired in the book ‘Bajo El Puente’ also writer by Fournier.

His love for painting came from his uncle, painter Ricardo Fuentes Alcocer. He introduced him to technique and the importance of the craft. Later on, he entered de workshop of maestro Joan Vich. Concurrently, he worked in diverse architectural buffets including the architect Jaime Trullols and Jose Ma.Mosteiro, where he was employed as graphic designer. The spaces he has had individual exhibitions are: "Fundación Sebastián, galería Veracruzana y Centro Deportivo Israelita en la Ciudad de México, Exposiciones colectivas casa- taller y galería Joan Vich en Palma de Mallorca Aguafuerte, café bar Antolia, galería Veracruzana, casa Limantour, Hyundai insurgentes y proyecto Carpa en Dr Atl 285 y en el Museo de la ciudad de México y ex convento de San Agustín en Zacatecas.
