Cecilias Rodarte is born in Mexico City. She nurtures herself from the city and the moon- the light inside the darkness. Her photographs are a product from these, but also a certain yearning to be in contact with the earth that results in a search for Nature’s voice.
Like Goya, she thinks ´time also paints’, and she looks to understand, or at least capture, that which the traces of time retain or say. She has dedicated herself to photography in several branches: faces, writers, artists and general characters. On the other hand, in her search to unravel reality, she continues work with analogue photography, black and white photography in contrast with digital photography and photoshop, altering the reality from within the gaze, making it unrecognizable. She also delved in photography and digital art to continue with her sense of abstract photography.
From 1994 she has participated in individual and collective shows. Among them the workshop and exhibition Luna Rossa with the Japanese artist Eikoh Hosoe at the Centro de la Imagen, Evo (Evo m. En teol. Persistence of External Things/Indefinite Duration) at the Galería Marie Louise Ferrari in Xalapa, Veracruz, Pieles, Centro Cultural El Atrio; Fjhefhiuhi, o del cuerpo, Estación Coyoacán Arte Contemporáneo, Fotografía x6, at the Galería Traeger & Pinto in 2014, Poesía Visual at the Galería Veracruzana, Agua y su intervención Dibujar con Agua, at the Galería Traeger & Pinto in 2016, #fotografíasinretocar, in Casa Quimera, in 2017. Cecilia added the plural to her name to asume the multiplicity of knowing herself as many within the infinite.
